Speaker: Tannistha Nandi
With the advent of next-generation sequencing, the field of Bioinformatics has emerged as a big data field. This has led towards a paradigm shift of biological data analysis on the High-Performance Computing (HPC) clusters. The webinar will introduce Singularity – the HPC-compatible container for bioinformatics applications. The two primary advantages of containers are reproducibility and portability of research workflows. These features of containerized applications offer access to all the Compute Canada national systems. The first part of the webinar will demonstrate how to use an existing container, and the second part will focus on how to build a container for any specific application. It will also briefly introduce the use of Singularity containers for an end-to-end analysis pipeline involving multiple applications.
