Makay joined ACENET in 2025. Skilled in datacenter design, network design, HPC usage, as well as proficiency in python, AMMBER, AMBERtools, ORCA, Gaussian and all manner of scripting, Makay has first author publications in both Nucleic Acids Research (NAR) and Physical Chemistry of Chemical Physics (PCCP), as well as numerous second and contributing author credits to Chemical Science, and Angewandte Chemie. He is currently completing his PhD in Theoretical and Computational Chemistry. A person with many hobbies, including an extensive fully painted Warhammer collection (and several others), a HAM radio license and equipment, a passion for mechanical keyboards, and a large home-network and self-hosted services totalling over 90 TB of home storage, Makay is also the go-to person in his circle for designing and building gaming PCs. These many, diverse skills have converged in his PhD work. Makay has had a passion for teaching since his undergraduate years. He lead several undergraduate study groups and excelled in teaching roles both as a TA and as a lab mate mentoring independent study students and new Master's and PhD students.
