ACENET is a consortium of post-secondary institutions in Atlantic Canada created in 2003 to serve the computationally intense and large scale data based research needs of researchers at five universities. Our membership has since grown to 14 universities and community colleges and over 900 users. However we serve any researcher at any institution in the region, as well as government departments and qualifying private companies.
Through our activities, ACENET accelerates discovery, helps attract and retain Highly Qualified People in the region, and provides students foundational skills in the high-demand field of advanced computing.
We are a regional partner with Compute Canada, the national organization responsible for advanced research computing in Canada. Through Compute Canada, we provide access to resources from across the country, and represent our regional needs at the national table.
