ACENET was created through the grassroots organization of a handful of forward thinking researchers. That foundation remains a cornerstone of our culture today. ACENET’s mission is to accelerate discovery and innovation in Atlantic Canada by providing advanced computing resources, expertise and training to researchers and industry.

We have grown on the principle that the client’s needs are first and foremost, and we pursue excellence in all endeavours.

ACENET is a virtual organization, with its 17 staff located at institutions across Atlantic Canada. This operational structure demands an environment of trust, integrity and respect for our clients and for one another. Our team is comprised of individuals with unique and complementary skill sets. As a small organization, we are both flexible and innovative, often solving difficult challenges by working together to arrive at creative solutions.

ACENET Chief Technology Officer

ACENET seeks a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to join its Executive Management Team.  The CTO is a key leadership position in the organization, responsible for the development and execution of ACENET’s research support and digital infrastructure services. Reporting to ACENET’s Chief Executive Officer, the CTO manages a technical team of 14 research support, system administration, and cybersecurity staff.  The CTO works closely with ACENET senior management, advisory committees, member institutions in Atlantic Canada, clients, and partner Advanced Research Computing organizations across Canada. ACENET, in discussion with the successful candidate, will locate this position at one of our partner university campuses in: Antigonish, NS; Halifax, NS; Fredericton, NB; Charlottetown, PE; or St. John’s, NL.  More information and apply

WestGrid is hiring Research Computing Training Assistant is responsible for supporting and delivering research computing training sessions across all WestGrid Member institutions online, in-person, or over multiple days.
