ACENET’s mission is to support Atlantic Canadian researchers in academia, industry, government and non-profits leverage digital research infrastructure and expertise to accelerate discovery, innovation and productivity.
We were created through the grassroots efforts of a handful of forward-thinking researchers – and that spirit still shapes who we are today. We’ve grown with a clear focus – putting our clients first and pursuing excellence in everything we do.
We work for a diverse clientele doing every kind of research imaginable – developing lighter aerospace materials, analyzing Shakespearean texts, engineering ship propellers, mining historical records, advancing green energy solutions, informing public policy, or applying AI to global health challenges. From nanotechnology and advanced manufacturing to social science, ocean science, genomics, and the arts and humanities, researchers increasingly rely on ACENET and the Digital Research Alliance of Canada (DRAC) for the tools, support and training they need.
Through our training, we help build and retain high-tech talent in Atlantic Canada – contributing to a stronger innovation economy and meaningful socio-economic impact across the region.
