ACENET Team

With a background as an academic librarian, Meghan joined ACENET in 2022. In addition to her management position, Meghan specializes in working with sensitive data, digital humanities, and research data management. Though based at St. Francis Xavier University, she serves all of Atlantic Canada and is active in national and regional humanities & social sciences initiatives.

Based at Dalhousie University, Ross joined ACENET in 2007 as a Research Consultant. With both academic research and industry software development experience, his responsibilities span education, documentation, and client support. As a senior consultant, Ross has worked with clients in almost every discipline – chemistry, physics, biology, oceanography, neuroscience, engineering, philosophy, and management studies, just to name a few.

Chris has been working in HPC since 2005 and joined ACENET in 2015. He is based at Dalhousie University and his focus is cloud environments. With that focus, Chris frequently supports humanities researchers in establishing and maintaining cloud-based platforms and portals. stars, and how the existing convection is modified by the accretion of new material.

Sergiy joined ACENET in 2007 as a Research Consultant. He was instrumental in configuring early ACENET clusters, in particular focusing on a consistent user experience and a unified software stack. Alongside troubleshooting infrastructure, he deployed the first user-support ticketing system and wrote much of the user documentation. He was the team lead for the national infrastructure operations team. His current role is in data analytics and helpdesk operations. 

Michael joined ACENET in 2026. He holds a BSc in physics from St. Francis Xavier University and a PhD in physics from the University of British Columbia. With a research background in high performance computing, he specializes in the development of algorithms and simulation tools for classical and quantum systems, and in applying AI to accelerate scientific workflows.

Gurpreet joined ACENET in 2016 and is based at St. Francis Xavier University. He’s been involved in a variety of interdisciplinary computational research areas, including physics, chemistry, earth sciences, mechanical engineering and neuroscience. Passionate about teaching, Gurpreet has taught a range of topics in various workshops.

Mostafa joined ACENET in 2026 and is based at DataNB. He has a background in computational drug design, quantum information theory, and high performance computing, with experience developing computational methods and software for studying biomolecular systems. His interests include secure research computing environments, scientific computing, and supporting interdisciplinary research through data driven and computational approaches.

Adnane joined ACENET from the Perception, Robotique et Intelligence Machine (PRIME) research group at Université de Moncton in 2023, where he served as a research assistant. His core expertise is computer vision, but through his ACENET experience, Adnane has become an AI generalist, and is the lead instructor for our LLM-based microcredential. 

Oliver is based at Memorial University and has been with ACENET since 2015. His computational research experience in the fields of molecular modelling, chemistry, and bioinformatics spans decades. Oliver is an integral resource in bridging systems administration with researcher needs.

Serguei joined ACENET in 2019 as a Research Consultant at the University of New Brunswick. His work with ACENET includes developing a Molecular Dynamics Performance Guide, as well as a Practical Molecular Dynamics course covering aspects of biomolecular simulations such as the theory of MD simulations, molecular visualization, and preparing, carrying out, and analyzing simulations in the national HPC environment.
