Ann MacKenzie Appointed Chief Executive Officer of ACENET

Ann MacKenzie - CEO of Acenet Advanced Computing in Nova Scotia

The Board of Directors of ACENET is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Ann MacKenzie to the position of Chief Executive Officer.

Ann joins ACENET from the Conference Board of Canada, an independent, not-for-profit research organization. As Executive Director for Atlantic Canada, Ann was responsible for business development activities and managing senior relationships with the board’s key clients in the region. Prior to this, Ann was the President and CEO of Film Nova Scotia, a provincial Crown corporation where she was responsible for promoting, growing and stimulating investment in the local film industry.

Throughout her 25-year career, Ann has built relationships and worked with municipalities, universities, hospitals and boards, and her expertise spans multiple business environments in both the private and public sectors. Her business acumen and demonstrated strengths working in a federated operating model will serve ACENET well as the Advanced Research Computing (ARC) environment evolves and grows with Compute Canada.

Ann holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Saint Mary’s University, and the designations of Chartered Accountant and Certified Public Accountant. She also holds a Masters of Electronic Commerce (Law Major) from Dalhousie University and an Institute of Corporate Directors Certification from the University of Toronto.

Ann has replaced Ray Miller who is retiring, and her appointment is effective November 16, 2015.
